6m³ Skip Hire — the standard Winelands renovation bin
The size most Winelands renovations and building sites ask for: enough volume for weeks of rubble, without the footprint of an 8m³.

What fits in a 6m³ skip
The 6m³ skip is bought by the job it finishes, not by the number on the side. Here is what it is normally used for and where it stops being the right choice.
- A kitchen or bathroom renovation, including the rubble
- A few weeks of building waste on a small site
- A garage, storeroom or outbuilding cleared
- A medium garden clear with branches and soil
- An estate or guest-house turn-around between bookings
The weight question
Volume is what the bin holds; weight is what the truck may carry. Rubble, soil, tiles and concrete are heavy, and a load can be at its limit long before the bin looks full.
Six cubic metres of concrete is a heavy load. If the bin is for rubble only, ask what weight the quote allows and what happens if the weighbridge reads more.
Typical Winelands jobs for this size
A Stellenbosch heritage house's kitchen renovation
A Paarl building site's ongoing rubble
A Franschhoek guest house's between-season clean-up
A Wellington smallholding's mixed general and garden waste
Booking it
Send the job, the town and the date. The operator confirms that a 6m³ bin can be delivered to your address, what it may carry, and what the hire period is, before anything is dropped.
This is the size the site is built around. If you are unsure, describe the job and the operator will confirm whether the 6m³ is right or whether the 4m³ will finish it.
Why this is the size around the district
Six cubic metres is the size that fits the commonest Winelands job: a house renovation that produces waste in batches over weeks. It is big enough to hold a strip-out, small enough to stand in a driveway between two walls, and the size operators run most of in this district.
If your renovation is in an older Stellenbosch or Paarl house, expect heavier rubble than a modern build produces. Tiles, plaster, screed and solid timber add up, and the weighbridge decides the final figure.
Before you book this size
Confirm three things with the operator: that the bin can be delivered to your address, what weight the quote allows, and what the hire period is. Every Winelands booking runs on those three plus the tip fee for the town.
The request
Request a bin for your address
The town and one line about the job — what you are clearing, the size, the date and any access constraint. The town decides which operator sees it, and the price comes back as a quote, not a guess.
- One form. No account, no card, no obligation.
- A local operator confirms the size, the hire period and the price.
- Nothing is dropped until you accept the quote.
The request desk is not the skip company: the operator who quotes you delivers and tips the bin. The footer of every page says the same thing.
