Skip hire in Robertson
Robertson is the town where the facility detail matters most in the district. The Robertson Transfer Station does not accept building and demolition waste, so a rubble skip from Robertson has to go to Ashton or Bonnievale.
For a Robertson renovation, that means the tip leg is longer and the price reflects it. A garden-waste load is simpler: clean green waste can go to the compost facility, but only if it can be chipped.
Where the waste goes
Robertson's transfer station on Reitz Street takes domestic and business waste and recyclables, and its adjoining compost facility takes clean green waste that can be chipped. Langeberg publishes the waste streams it will not accept, and building and demolition waste is on that list (Langeberg solid waste page). Builder's rubble is accepted at the Ashton and Bonnievale waste disposal facilities instead.
Permission to put a bin on the street
Langeberg's Integrated Waste Management By-law 2021 follows the same pattern as Drakenstein's: building waste and its containers stay on the premises (section 22(1)), and section 22(2) allows a bulk container on a verge “upon written request and subject to conditions as it may determine the municipality ... for a specified duration” (Langeberg waste by-law, PDF).
Langeberg also publishes its solid waste contact: the Manager: Solid Waste Management, on 023 616 8000. Ask that office before a bin goes on the street.
Access and practical details
Vehicles with a maximum carrying capacity of 2m³ may enter the facility once a day, which is another reason a full skip load is not a facility trip you can do yourself. Delivery distance to Ashton or Bonnievale is the pricing constraint.
Which size for the job
A Robertson renovation is a 6m³, priced with the longer rubble run. A house cleared for sale is an 8m³. Clean garden waste can go to the compost facility, but branches that cannot be chipped belong in the skip instead.
A job this town books
A Robertson guest house renovating its bathrooms books a 6m³ and asks for the rubble tip run to Ashton to be included in the quote, so the price is not a surprise once the bin is full.
The rubble rule, and what it costs
Langeberg's Robertson Transfer Station accepts domestic and business waste and recyclables, but not building and demolition waste. A Robertson renovation's rubble goes to the Ashton or Bonnievale waste disposal facilities instead.
That is a longer tip run and it is priced into the quote. It is also a reason to keep rubble and general waste in separate loads, because a mixed load has to follow the rubble rule to whichever facility will take it.
Questions before you book
Short answers. Where the answer depends on the operator, the page says so instead of inventing a number.
Do you deliver skips in Robertson?
Yes. Send the request with the town, the load and the date, and an operator who covers Robertson comes back with a price. If no operator can reach your address, we will tell you rather than take the booking.
How soon can a bin reach Robertson?
Robertson's transfer station is in town but refuses building waste, so a rubble job has a longer tip run. Give the operator the load before the date and the plan will be honest.
What should not go in a Robertson bin?
Asbestos, tyres, lead-acid batteries, gas bottles, liquid waste, paint and solvent, and anything explosive or flammable. Those exclusions come from the national landfill norms and standards, not from the operator's preference. Langeberg approves a verge container only on written request, for a stated period.

- Nothing is dropped until you accept the quote.
The request desk is not the skip company: the operator who quotes you delivers and tips the bin. The footer of every page says the same thing.
The request slip
Five fields. Robertson goes to an operator who covers Robertson.
